Geskus Photography, Inc. (“Gpí”, “we”, “our”, or “us”) is a family run company where trust has been earned through long standing relationships in the communities we serve since 1960. Gpi provides photography services to schools and families by agreement with the schools we work with. This Privacy Policy (this “Policy”) explains how we collect, use, and protect information when providing its photography services.

Data and Image Privacy
What Data Gpi Collects
As part of our agreement with schools, Gpí may collect the following information:

Student Data: this may include student name, student grade, teacher name, school issued ID number, and home address.

Website Account Information: email address and password

Ordering Information: Order details such as name and address
We limit the information we collect to only that which is necessary for Picture Day and related authorized school purposes. The student data that Gpí receives is used for identification purposes only in order to match the subject with their name.
Schools do not share sensitive personal information with Gpí such as Social Security numbers, medical records, academic records, or financial information.
How Student Data and Images Are Used
When partnering with schools, Gpí may use student data and images for authorized purposes, such as:

Yearbook, ID cards, and other school approved needs
Our commitment to our families and schools is first and foremost important at Gpí.

Security and Compliance
We have put in place appropriate security measures to prevent student data and personal information from being accidentally lost, used or accessed in an unauthorized way, altered or disclosed. In addition, we limit access to authorized trained staff only and access is restricted based on job role.
Gpí is committed to complying with all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations, including, but not limited to, the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA); the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act of 1998 (COPPA); and the Protection of Pupil Rights Amendment (PPRA).
We retain student data and related information only as long as is reasonably necessary to fulfill the purpose for which it was collected.

Children Under 13

In accordance with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act of 1998 (COPPA), we do not knowingly solicit or accept personally identifiable information from users known to be under thirteen (13) years of age without the consent of their educational institution or the child’s parent or guardian. We may, in the course of providing services to educational institutions, collect information directly from students in support of and with the consent of the educational institution.
We prohibit the use of personalized advertising to target users known to be under the age of 13. If a parent or guardian believes Gpi has collected personal information from a child under 13 without appropriate consent, please contact us immediately.
Third-Party and Payment Processing
Gpí may use third-party service providers to support the internal operations of Gpí and who have access to information needed to perform their functions, but may not use it for other purposes. These providers are prohibited from using student data for their own purposes, including advertising, profiling, or cross-service tracking.
To ensure the security and efficiency of product purchases, we utilize secure third-party payment processors. When you make a purchase, payment information, such as credit card numbers, is processed directly by the applicable third-party processor and is not collected, stored, or maintained by Gpí. We only receive confirmation of payment from the third-party processor to fulfill your order.
